Reconstruct VirtualBox.xml

Hi,

I have a number of Linux and Windows guest vm's that I have built over time on my Mac OS 10.6.3 host.

In upgrading my version of VirtualBox to v3.2.4, my VirtualBox.xml file was apparently overwritten. Starting up VirtualBox now lists no existing virtual machines.

I stupidly had my VirtualBox machine folder on a separate drive that was not backed up by TimeMachine, so I have no backup of VirtualBox.xml.

The individual xml files for the exiting virtual machines appear to be okay. Is there a way to reconstruct VirtualBox.xml from these individual files?

I'd appreciate any help or advice that you can offer.

Thanks.

You can reconstruct it, yes. All that you have to do, is create a new VM with hard drive, then see how the syntax is and add all the other VMs manually. I hope you don't have snapshots, as that can be a lot harder to fix, but with a decent backup, doable.
