Drivers for Linux Guests

Post by creeps »

I'm trying to install Arch Linux under VirtualBox and everything goes well, except for the drivers, the video, audio and mouse ones. When I'm done installing the OS, I want to have Gnome running as well, but apparently, I don't have the required drivers to power Gnome. Can anyone help? I'm also sorry if I didn't provide all the required info.

You must install guest additions. See Howto this area and manual.

If this is your first try with linux, its better to use a major distro like suse or ubuntu.

As above, install the Guest Additions. Video drivers are shipped with it.
Audio is what you set in the VM settings, not shipped with GA because it's in about every OS, especially Linux.
Mouse can be used for default mouse, the Guest Additions ship another driver for seamless integration where you don't need the host key to release it.
