Installing FreeBSD 2.0.5 + which ethernet interface

Post by hoschiy »

Hi,

I'm trying to install FreeBSD 2.0.5 (don't ask why) on a virtual box. When I'm trying to boot with the bootdisk the kernel doesn't detect the IDE controller. Do I have to modify some settings of the Virtual Box? I tried the same with a SVISTA VM and there I was able to install the system but stopped because of another problem. I think I don't need to say that FreeBSD 2.0.5 is more then 10 years old (80486, Pentum 1).
Another question I have is which network interface card is seen from the guest OS. Is it possible to have an ordinary NE2000 compatible one (because of FBSD 2.0.5).

Thanks in advance!
