Mac and XP

Hey guys,
I'm trying to install XP on my mbp and am having trouble.
I obviously installed VB it is working fine, I started to install windows and an error occurred (shocking!) I tried it on another machine and the same problem, so I got a newer disc. anyway, I deleted the old windows I originally tried to install by right click delete in the main window. (I don't think that's the right way lol) When I went to install the new xp disc, it picked up from where the old one failed, it told me to insert the disc, I did, and it needed a certain file. It asked where to look for the file, and showed d:\ and a:\ in the drop menu, I assume the paths would be different on a mac.
So how do I completely delete the original attempt to install xp, so that when I use the new disc it is as if its from square 1?
is that the only way ? or is there a way to carry on?
If any of this makes sense , please help lol
thanks!
