GUI doesn't work in debian5 on 3.2.0

I used debian 5 on 3.0.8 before, the problem is when the guest system booting there is a kernel error message.
I ignored it, the system worked well.
The virtualbox updated to 3.2.0 some days ago.
I reinstalled the debian 5 system on it. But it can't start the GUI.
Only the command line work in it.
Is there a method to solve this problem?
