Keyboard issue

Post by ghost974 »

Hello,

I installed VB on a Fedora 11 64bit and running some test with a guest Fedora 10 64bit.
After a very fast installation, i realized something really weird with my keyboard, I have to use the CAPS LOCK to access number and dot. Keypad also don't work.

When I connect on the guest via putty, I have the same issue, but using SHIFT also work now to access number and dot.

What is going on ?! I have the 3.0.14 r58977, something wrong with this version maybe ?

Thanks for your help.

Have you checked the settings in putty? Have you selected the proper keyboard and codes?

It isn't already working properly directly in the Virtual machine, I just wanted to check with putty but it was the same issue.

edit: I'm in Fr keyboard on the windows computer, and when I switch to En it's all correct, how come the computer language has something to do, the host computer is a Fedora i'm accessing with UltraVNC.

Layout on the Host says nothing for the Guest itself. They have different keymaps. Different layouts still send the same key codes, the only difference is the result on the screen. You have to set the VM to the same layout as your physical keyboard. As you are French, your layout is azerty, and it's currently set for qwerty in the VM.
