I am currently thinking to move my PostgreSQL DB running on Arch Linux (desktop computer) to a virtual machine that would run Ubuntu Server guest (on the same Arch Linux host). What kind of performance loss am I looking at with a quad core i7, 8Gb RAM and SSD drive?
