Hi togeher,
I made a quick search, but I didn't find something which sounds like my problem.
So here it is:
For an old software of us, I need from time to time our old libc5 development environment.
Since our old PC was broken (486), I use a harddiskimage.
Normally I use VirtualBox for such things. But in this case I have to use qemu or bochs.
Why?
The kernel 2.2.26 starts without problems, but than I got sporadic segmentation faults from different softwares.
Especcially when I try to compile our old project, it needs up to 10 tries until it runs completely through the complete Makefile.
As I told you already: No problems with qemu and bochs.
Any hint for me?
One other point which was very ugly:
It was not possible to install the system from the original SuSE CD 5.2:
Unkonw CPU type.
So it would be great, if it is possible to choose a specific CPU type for the machine.
Best regards,
Bernd
