I have the following question: is it possible to create a guest system from a live CD iso image? I want to use a distribution for electron microscopy called Elmix (http://www.elmix.org) that is available in form of a live CD. There is a solution described to create a bootable USB disk from this image and I tried to use this method to create a hard disk for a VirtualBox guest without success. Do you know if such operation is possible and how?

VirtualBox is not going to control this. You need to ask the people at elmix to see what needs to be done.
