Way to use NUM LOCK is unknown to me

Post by boogieted »

Running a brand-new install of Windows 7 on a Mac OS X host; everything's fully up-to-date...
I am using an Apple USB full-size keyboard with numeric keys on the right side. There is no NUM LOCK (number lock) key on this keyboard, because it is not necessary in OS X. However, when i'm running Windows, i need this all the time! But when i press the number keys on this keypad while in Windows, they are treated as arrow keys, and no numbers are entered. I am forced to use the number keys at the top of the keyboard, and this is unacceptable if I need to enter data in a spreadsheet or something like that.
I would appreciate it if someone has solutions for this other than buying a new keyboard (I spent $49 on this one because I wanted a number pad).
Thanks

Thanks rpmurray. I have discovered that the Clear button itself acts as a number lock.

I love it when I go to a forum to research an issue and find my exact situation with the resolution.

I found that both clear and shift-clear works as the NUM LOCK for me also.
