FATAL: No bootable medium found! System halted.

Hi,
I've never used Virtual Box, and was referred to it for a piece of software that only runs on Windows .
I have a Mac. I was running 10.4, but Virtual Box wouldn't run below 10/5.
I upgraded to 10.6 (SnowLeopard). Upgrade seems to work fine.
I loaded out the VirtualBox software - it selects my hard drive and seems to load fine.
The VBox window seems open fine. I get the window that gives me the New, Settings and Start
icons.
The bar below says "Powered Off"
I click "Start", get "spawning session", then a drop down telling me about the Auto Capture keyboard.
I click "OK" and get "Starting Virtual Machine"
Then the FATAL message indicated above shows up in the black window, and I'm dead in the water.
Suggestions?
Many thanks.
