hello everyone!
i'm a new user.....oh, i'm sorry....not really a new user because i have a problem and a question for you!
i've installed VirtualBox ver. 3.1.6-59351 on my mac OS X 10.5.8....but it doesn't work!!!
a window appears when i try to start the program: (sorry for the follow message but it's a translation from italian....)

<<Failure in the initialization of COM or in the individuation of the server VIrtualBox COM.
Probably the VirtualBox's server doesn't work or doesn't start.

The application will now close.

Details: RC dialer(???): NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) >>

What can i do to solve my problem???????

Thanks a lot for your attention!!

Did you reboot the host?

This is what the FAQ says about a COM error.
This usually means that the VirtualBox COM server was unable to start up, and is often a sign of problems in your installation of VirtualBox. In many cases this problem can be solved simply by reinstalling VirtualBox. Reinstalling will simply set up the VirtualBox program files again, and will not affect any virtual machines which you have created.

i want to run Xp on my mac because i use some programs that needs only windows............and, as I read on the web,
the best choice is VirtualBox!

In some of the other topics on this forum that discuss this problem the replies seem to indicate that this may be a permissions problem. When you installed VB, did you install it with the Admin account, or as a standard user?
