VirtualBox on MacBook Pro - Best Practice Settings

Hello,

Based on the information below can someone please advise as to best-practice VirtualBox settings

My MacBook Pro:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,2
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Hard Drive: 500 GB

I am using VirtualBox in the following capacity: Can these settings be improved for best performance?

Any assistance on the best VirtualBox or at least rules-of-thumb best settings would be appreciated.
