Hello,

I was hoping to get some help setting up Virtualbox on my mac to run windows xp. I am using 3.1.6 OSX 10.6.3 and .iso disk image for windows xp. But I keep getting the error // no bootable medium found. System halted. I tried burning my iso image of windows xp to a cd on a pc and a mac but have had no success with a cd of the program or a iso image. I tried for a few days and I read all the other solutions about clicking the passive checkbox and such. Does anyone have any advice. Thanks for any time and help someone may have to offer

From what is the XP ISO Image? Is it a crappy Recovery disc?

It was from technet.microsoft.com membership. I tried downloading it twice hoping it may be a messed up iso. then i tried burning it to a disc and doing it that way as well a few times . Thanks for your time and help

When I tried the dvd I burned it would show up on my desktop then once I launched the virtual machine it would disappear from the desktop

Have you tried the ISO Image directly instead of a CD?

Which way have you burned the CD? As data-cd?

An Image is a 1:1 copy!

Yes sir I tried without burning a disc as well.. same error message. I tried burning the dvd a few ways.. once through disc utility, one by dragging the iso image on the blank dvd, and once by unpacking the contents and dragging them on to the dvd, and once I had my friend burn the iso image on a pc to a bootable copy. none worked so far. I must be doing something wrong maybe. I would hate to have to dual boot. thanks for your time and help
