I built a ubuntu 9.1 guest on windows xp host (VM 3.1.6). Everything works well. I can start the machine up and can select gnome or kde without issue. I have used VBoxLinux additions 3.1.7 old X to dynamically resize my windows without issue.
I export the machine and import onto a windows 7 host (VM 3.1.6). When I start the guest up all I get is the login prompt. I cannot now choose the windowing (kde, gnome) system. Basically, the machine does not work the same way. Does anyone have a reason for this change? Maybe someone has a solution?
