Fullscreen mode + screen saver = completely locked out

Hey,
I was using my VBox in fullscreen mode and then i closed the computer and left it sitting for a while.
When I picked up my computer again, the OSX login screen was up, but it did not have keyboard focus and no amount of clicking ,closing screens, resuspending and reactivating helped. I had to shut off the computer.
This seems like it might be a design flaw, that the VBox gets exclusive keyboard access ... can this be fixed?
