I don't want to download a 27MB AVI. I don't know you and don't download files from people I don't trust due to security reasons.
Why not just tell us what the error is when you try to install.

It simple avi-file, and you speak about security )) It is difficult to me to explain a problem in unfamiliar language

Ok, im try tell...

1) I have an .iso image file and insert it in Daemon tools lite
2) In VB i create a linux (mandriva x64) virtual machine with recommended parametres
3) i started this machine, and at first load from CD/DVD... all ok - i see a windows with "Install Mandriva Linux 2010"
4) Before press button Install, i press a F5 and set DRIVER to Yes (without inclusion, system display "Fatal error finishing initialization")
5) Now i press Install Mandriva and installation start
6) All stepping good, but looking for floppy, cd-rom, driver - not good: "I can't mount the selected device". I press OK, and again looking, looking...
7) nothing find, but at next step system offer insert third-party component. Press Cancel.
8) Please choose installation method - i press CDrom drive, because bootting and distributive placed on .iso, and error "Fatal error finish initialization" see again.
9) If i press not cdrom, but hdd, then system display that "No partition found"

What i do? Or what i do wrong?
And sorry for english :)) I hope all clearly.

PS
VB installed in Win7

You would be surprised what can be hidden in an AVI file.

Since you have the ISO file you can mount that in the CD/DVD section and install it from there. The errors you are seeing probably are due to the CD that you burned not being bootable, or corrupt. The not being able to boot to the HDD is because noting has been installed on it yet.
Chapter 1. First steps in your VirtualBox Users Guide will walk you through the installation.

Edit: Another thing to check is that you are capable of running a 64-bit guest. You must have a 64-bit CPU and your bios must support 64-bit and have hardware virtualization turned on.

thx.

About corrupt or not bootable: from this distributive other people sucessfully installing Mandriva (over 400 peoples), but installed without VB.
About 64: before install, in bios i turn on virtualization (without this function VM displayed error), and my system is capable with 64.
With XP a have no so problems.

I go to read Chapter 1 (unfortunatly not on ru lang). wait me...

No, I cannot find answer in guide.
Tried to put mandriva on a virtual disk in which already costs XP, I was offered to choose a place on a disk where to put.
On the absolute blank disk does not wish to rise, suggests to establish MEDIA driver.
I think, if means VB I could create partition the problem would dare.

how can i do partition on virtual hdd?
