Hi,
I just installed VirtualBox 3.1.6 on brand new Lenovo ThinkPad T510 with Code i7 processor on Windows 7 Enterrpise 64 bit host OS.
VirtualBox complains with "vt-x/amd-v hardware acceleration has been enabled but is not operational" when I try to start new Windows 7 64 bit machine.
I'm not running VMWare or VirtualPC on same machine, VT-X is enabled in BIOS and on guest machines and I have update laptops BIOS to latest version and I'm running latest version of VirtualBox.
What else can I try?
Thank you for your help, David

VBox.log from your VM session will show the exact reason. You can attach it here.

If you are certain you've properly turned it on in your BIOS, then your BIOS is broken. In that case the only thing you can do is try to find an update.

Did you completely power off your ThinkPad after enabling VT in the BIOS? (Maybe even removing the battery for a minute?)

Holy .... something! This actually worked!Martin wrote:Did you completely power off your ThinkPad after enabling VT in the BIOS? (Maybe even removing the battery for a minute?)
After I enabled or disabled VT in the BIOS I only reset the machine. Turning it completely off and even removing battery solved my problem.
Thanks for the tip!

@Martin: Thank's a lot. Removing battery from my good old TP T500 did the trick.
