Do Guest Additions work with OSX (Snow Leopard) Host and Ubuntu (9.10) Guest? If so, could someone please point me to directions?

Sure, the Guest Additions are for the Guest machine, to add some additional functionality (grab the screen under OS X and resize it and the Guest machine screen resizes along with it. Can hit Command-F and it goes full-screen (nice on a big 1920x1080 screen!). Hit it again and it goes back to previous window size. Also seamless mouse function where if the mouse is inside the VM Guest window, clicks there apply to the Guest OS, outside the window, clicks there apply to Mac OS as you would expect - mouse doesn't stop at the edge of the Guest window, forcing you to press the Command key to change the mouse back to the Mac OS one).

It should appear on your Guest desktop as a CD. You should be able to double-click it to open it and display contents. Find the 'autorun.sh' file, double click it and allow it to run. Once it finishes, close the window and reboot the guest. On the Apple side, under the VirtualVM machine, under the 'Machine' dropdown menu will be more options that you didn't have before. If you click one, you'll get a pop-up box describing what the function does.

This tip helped me by revealing the command F. I installed guest additions but I still could not get full screen or dynamically adjustable screen for Ubuntu. When I finally hit command-F it messaged "not enough" video ram. So I bumped to 10m and viola I get full screen and dynamically adjustable.
