External usb connected HDD shows to be grayed out in the usb devices. I could not figure out how to connect it to the guest system (host MacOSX, guest Windows XP). Any similar issues? Suggestions?
thanks!!
PS: I came across with VirtualBox yesterday through a youtube video. Installed and loving it. Used to have Parallels 3.0. VB is way faster, responsive and better. Many thanks to developers!!

Re: External Harddisk disabled through USB
According to your profile, you are using the OSE version of VirtualBox. The OSE version does not support USB.
If your profile is correct, you need to download and install the PUEL version.
If your profile is incorrect, you need to update it.

Re: External Harddisk disabled through USB
Thanks for the prompt reply!
In fact, I was not sure which version I was using, I chose it on random. Where can I learn it? On the drop down window under VirtualBox, "about VirtualBox" option brings a window where it reads Version 3.1.6 r59351. Is this PUEL?
Thanks again!
