I am a noob too, so I am not sure but I think it is telling you that the device is currently being used by another Virtual machine or the Host. If you can try and pause all other guests and check the host.

Hi!
I have a same problem. Now I use VB3.1.4 to run Windows xp on Mac OS 10.6.2.
I want to use a USB video capture device (I-O data GV-MDVD3).But I can't to be recognized this device on windows xp.
I want to try to remove this device from Mac,but this device is not designed for Mac,so can't select one.
Please teach me how to fix this problem!

I have resolved the problem cutting off the Mac driver so that Snow Leopard doesn't take the instrument control.

Before I have tried the 3.1.2 version of VB but the results were the same.
