I am trying to set up a system to test Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) with Virtual Box.
Despite the fact it is not supported in production, I would like to make some testing on this.
Anyway, my post is not concerning Oracle RAC, but the network configuration related to this.
I need to setup 3 NIC (Public, interconnect and San). These need to be as fast as possible, and preferably using 1Gb ethernet.
This can be done rather easily, but my problem is that my interface are - from time to time, but rather often - not responding.
Even pinging the IP sometimes starts responding after seconds. This cannot be acceptable for RAC.
I would like to know if there are some tuning tips to be applied on my config :

Everything running on a iMac core i7.
2 Oracle Enterprise Linux boxes
1 Openfiler box
eth0 : public interface (bridged) 192.168.1.x
eth1 : san private interface (host only) 10.100.1.x
eth2 : rac interconnect (host only) 10.10.1.x
