VirtualBox Control Panel transparent

Today when I fired up VirtualBox the Control Panel is transparent. I haven't changed anything lately so I can't figure out why the panel is transparent. Also, any dialogs that come up from the control panel (settings, preferences, etc.) are also transparent. It makes it very difficult to see. Here is a screen shot:

As you can see I've got the settings dialog opened and you can see everything behind it. And the control panel, you can see Google behind that. However, all the buttons and everything are visible and work, as do the fields.

I'm running VirtualBox 3.1.4 r57640 on Mac OSX 10.6.2 and have 3 virtual machines defined:
Windows 7 Ultimate
Windows XP SP3
Open SuSE 11.1

Can someone point me in the right direction to get this fixed?

I'm having the same problem. I'm using VBox 3.2.8 on OS X Snow Leopard... I ran virtualbox as root once in order to forward one of the reserved ports to a guest machine, and ever since then my dialogs and UI panels within the VirtualBox application (not my VM's) are transparent if I don't run VirtualBox as root.

Where are these resources stored, and how come reinstalling VirtualBox via the Uninstall tool included on the disk image doesn't uninstall/reinstall them?
