Importing Xen virtual appliance?

I'm trying to import a virtual appliance backup I made in Citrix XenCenter. Is it possible? I tried converting it to a VM Ware appliance an opening it with the vmdk hard drive, but that didn't work.
I've searched the board and can't find an answer.
Can I import the .xva? Is there a tool to convert the .xva into a Virtual Box appliance?
The error I get is "Error loading operating system"

Try using "qemu-img" to convert it into a raw image, that can be converted to vbox format.

I am in the process of trying to do this.
I've downloaded the XenApp5.exe file onto my VM Windows 2008 server
Ran that .exe to obtained the .txt and .VHD file
Copied the CitrixXA5EVA.vhd file onto the host (opensuse) box
Tried to open the CitrixXA5EVA.vhd in Virtualbox to receive this error:
Failed to open the hard disk /VMCitrixXenApp/CitrixXA5EVA.vhd.
Could not get the storage format of the medium '/VMCitrixXenApp/CitrixXA5EVA.vhd' (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).
Nice ...
So after "some" hours researching, I read about converting the VHD to a raw format and creating a VDI file from it. I find out about Qemu and it's gui front end AQEMU. Install that and find the Convert HDD option. I convert the 9.4Gb CitrixXA5EVA.vhd file to a raw 9.4Gb Xen file.
Via VBoxManage I then convert this file to a VDI - the 9.4 Gb file turns into 298M .vdi file....
Open it up in VirtualBox and I now get unbootable drive.
I just wanna scream. Three days I've spent on this {sigh} and am thinking of giving up.
Is there a repository of VDI files that fellow VBers have created and uploaded? This could be a winner of an idea.
