seamless desktop not working in 3.1.4?

hi, I have been runing 3.1.2 for a while with both linux and MS guest os'es, and everything has been running like a charm.
today i upgraded to 3.1.4 and i lost the abillity to run in seamless mode. when choosen, the display flickers for a second but then goes back to "window mode"
I installed the 3.1.4 guest addons but that didn't help. i did a lots of tweaking for a coupple of hours, without any sucsess in getting the seamless mode working. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no sucsess. i finally unsinstalled and downgraded to 3.1.2 and i got my seamless mode back working...
i'm running snow leopard on a macbook pro 13"

I have a related problem since I upgraded to 3.1.4. I am running Ubuntu on a Vista host. When I try to go into seamless mode, the first time, it goes into "windows mode" like you said. When I try to select seamless mode a second time, it enters seamless mode, but my Ubuntu toolbar (which I keep at the bottom) is partially obscured by the windows toolbar.

At this point, if I reboot without exiting seamless mode, when Ubuntu comes back up, I do this cycle again and everything is fine.

It is my understanding that this problem has already been fixed and will be in the next release.

I have problems with the seamless mode, too, but only with Win7 guests.
WinXP and Linux don't seem to have any problems on my Mac.
When I go to seamless mode with the Win7 guest, only a small portion of the task bar is displayed and nothing more. If I try the "reset workaround", it goes back to windowed mode.

Running it on MBP 17" Unibody with OS X 10.6.2, VB 3.1.4 r57640.

Hope this gets sorted soon, it's really annoying.

noop, sorry to say.
no matter how many times I try to go into the "seamless mode" it just goes into Window mode.
good news to hear that it has already been addressed for the next release

Upgraded to 3.1.6 and it gets even worse
