Uninstalled Virtual Box and space still reserved for it

I have a Macbook Pro, I installed the new virtual box and i didn't like it. I then clicked on the uninstall file and it asked me if i wanted to proceed and i typed yes and it supposedly uninstalled it from my computer. When i installed it I made 10gb of space available for it to use. After the installation the 10 gb is still missing from my computer. Does anyone know how i need to go about getting this back? It wouldn't be a big deal, but I have a 128gb Solid State Disk drive on the computer and every little bit of available memory counts if you know what i mean.

Uninstalling VirtualBox just removes the application, it doesn't remove the vdi file it creates that contains the guest OS.
If you want to recover the space, go to your Users folder on your hard drive, find the folder for your account and open the Library folder in it. It should have a VirtualBox folder within the Library folder that contains all the other VirtualBox stuff, including the vdi file. Just toss the VirtualBox folder into the trash and empty the trash and you'll reclaim the space it was using.

rpmurray - I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am to have discoverd your answer to this post. I have been suffering the same problem as jrouse5 and until just now have been scrabbling around in terminal boxes typing in computer code that makes no sense to me. (but that other forums suggested I use)
I am not and do not pretend to be a computer whizz so having just discovered your instructions and carried them out - I am incredibly happy - you have saved me having to re format my mac - which I was dreading having to do.
Thank you thank you thank you.
