problme in removing a Snapshot in Version 3.1.2

Post by seaspray »

I'm running VB on WinXP.
i made the mistake of creating a snapshot and now i can't remove that snapshot.
when i try to remove it i get an error saying "ubnutu.vdi has more then one child hard drive".
ok so i went and looked for all the .VDI files on my XP and remove all of them manually.
and made sure on the settings of the snapshot there are no hard drives at all (remove them from the settings).
and still i can't remove the snap shot.

BTW this problem is persisting with me since version 3.1.0 and i can't fined a solution.
so now i do the right thing and ask here, on the VB forum.

please... PLEASE help me.

thank you.

Use VirtualBox menu: File>Virtual Media Manager... and expand 'ubnutu.vdi' and use the 'Remove' button to get rid of the unwanted child hard drives then try deleting the snapshot again.
If 'Remove' is not enabled, but 'Release' is enabled, then identify what VM that file is attached to (look at the 'Attached to:' field in the bottom status area) first to be sure you are removing a file you actually need.
