Is it Safe to Delete a Virtual Machine?

Post by Erilis »

Forgive my stupidity, I'm a newb:
I have installed Windows XP as a virtual machine using VirtualBox. Is it completely safe to just delete the virtual machine or do I need to uninstall Windows XP virtual machine? If so, how do I do that?

Basically what I want to do is reinstall Windows XP as a virtual machine.

Thank you!

If you want to delete the virtual machine yes you can.
You delete it from the main VBox program GUI, then go into the media manager and remove it from there as well. When asked if you want to delete you can of course say yes.
If you have snap shots though you will need to remove them first (in the media manager) or VBox will refuse the removal until they are removed.
This will totally remove the virtual machine and then you can install it again.
