Ubuntu 9.10 VM not recognized by VBoxManage

Hi Guys,
HOST --> Snow Leopard 10.6.2
GUEST --> Ubuntu 9.10
VirtualBox --> 3.1.2
When I run "VBoxManage list vms" ( VM not running) or "VBoxManage list runningvms" ( VM running), this is what I get:
dhcp1v561:~ zongo$ sudo VBoxManage list vms
VirtualBox Command Line Management Interface Version 3.1.2
(C) 2005-2009 Sun Microsystems, Inc.
All rights reserved.
Basically, my VM, does not exist for VBoxManage.
Most of all, when I try to do port-forwarding, I get confirmation that my VM is not recognized by VBoxManage.
Having said that, my VM is very much working and I have got no issue at all.
I would much appreciate some help...
