Multiple errors on Startup and Shutdown - OSX + XP

Recently (last 2 days) my Win XP has been fouled up and is throwing errors during startup including:

Startup:
Exception error 0xc0000409 at 0x76d86814

I have lost all my network drives, it says I have no sound devices/driver installed, Trillian sometimes quits with C++ runtime errors, so on... I also frequently get shutdown errors

Trillian runtime error:
R6025 - pure virtual function call

Any thoughts? Everythign online about 0409 talks about profiles not saving correctly, or being in use so they can't be saved...

Re-install latest VB PEUL and let XP fully boot before using any USB device. Allow windows to install guest additions and device drivers.
