Has anyone tried running Visual Pinball under VirtualBox? I have achieved partial success, in that non-VPinMAME tables run fine, and VP8.1 (engine and compatible tables) run fine. However, VP9.x fails when trying to run a table. The most common error message is "could not create back buffer," and occasionally the load process gets a bit farther and then fails with "could not create ActiveX object."
So far no solutions from the vpforums group (and yeah, I recognize that they are generally more likely to know what this is all about).
I did load the GuestAdditions in Safe Mode, and I'm running WinXP-SP3 at the administrator level.
