Winows XP - No Sound/Audio

Post by kromberg »

I am running an XP client on a Fedora 12 server. Sounds works fine on the Fedora side, but on the Windows client side there is no sound. Windows has installed an Intel 82801A AC'97 Audio Controller and it thinks it is working correctly. In the mixer/volume manager of Windows nothing is muted. On the Fedora side, I am not seeing any obvious errors or problems is dmesg or /.var/log/messages. On windows, I have installed the guest additions. On the linux side, I am running all the latest updates and the latest version of VirtualBox for F12. Does anyone have an ideas on what I should try and/or look at to get souns working in windows? With basically the same hardware( newer processors though ), everything worked fine with Fedora 11.

TIA,
Keith

- Enabled checkbox is checked
- Host Audio Controller is PulseAudio
- Audio Controller is ICH AC97

Selecting different combo of Host and Audio controller makes no difference..... just no sound.

Looks like the problem is with PulseAudio in F12. If I kill and restart PulseAudio before start VirtualBox, the windows client has sound....
