Windows XP Guest and Red Alert

Post by Chico008 »

Hi

I'm trying to get Red Alert Works on Guest XP

The game originaly works under Widnows XP with a few patch.
my new PC is on Windows 7 64Bits, and Red Alert, thought it launched succesfully, the game graphics are horrible and the game is unplayable.

So, i wanted ti put it to a Virtual XP oS
i installed Windows XP SP2, with Audio et Video Driver on Virtual Box successfully.

Red Alert Seems to works, except a little issue, the screen is interlaced, so i don't get the whole screen.
see the screen attached :

I don't know how to do to fix this.
i tried several Compatibility options, different setup from the game, but none worked.

If anyone have an idea, it could be very nice.

PS : i'm french, sorry for my poor english.

Did you install the 3d modules correctly?

well i thought i answered to my self because i found what the problem was.

So, VB addons installed (with 3D drivers)

But, In the graphics setup, in VB before guest is active, just uncheck the '2D acceleration', and the games work fine.

But now i have another request :
Is there a way with virtual box, to go full screen AND stretched image
because when i go full screen, the original resolution of the game is keep, and i play in a tiny square in the middle of the screen.

Thks
