USB devices always busy

Hi,

I tried to share the webcam on my laptop and other devices such as bluetooth in windows host, but they are all reported as busy.
Whenever I tried to tick them from the usb drop(up)box of the usb devices at the bottom-right corner of the guest machine window,
they dont get to be ticked all the time. Instead of that, a message box popped up:




The guest is linux.

However I can share these devices without problem in a linux host. Any suggestions ?

Hi all,

Just to say that I am also facing this behaviour...
Once this happens, the only way to get rid of this message is to restart the host completely.... but then, when trying to assign the device again, same thing happens.

Any ideas ?

I am having the same problem, but only with certain devices. It seems as if the host (Win7 in this case) does not want to relinquish use of the USB device so that the VM can use it. I can sometimes get the checkmark to show up for the desired USB device, but then it gets cleared. This problem did not occur previously, and it may be related to a recent upgrade in Virtualbox.

Addendum: I reverted to VirtualBox version 3.1.2 (from 3.1.4) and this seems to have solved my problem.

Tried 3.1.2, still the same. I didnt have this kind of problem when I was in Windows XP host, is it just me or windows 7 ?
