Wireless Internet Problems with Windows 7

I have a 1 yr old MacBook Pro 15" using VirtualBox 3.1.2 with Windows 7 Pro running on it. As of today I finally figured out how to get a internet connection established through a wired connection. My question is how do I get my wireless connection to work? When I go into my device manager in Windows I see Ethernet Controller and something called Base System Device with a exclamation point that tells me I need to update a driver, (which i believe is giving me some issues with this wireless thing) so I try to do that but Windows can't find any update drivers on the web nor on it's drive.

I need some advice, I enjoy using VirtualBox I want to continue to use I need a wireless connection though.

Thanks.

The guest network is a virtual adapter not a real one.
You select which adapter you want to connect to in the network settings. On Ver 3.1.x you can do this on the fly from within the guest. Click on Network under devices and see if you see a WLAN in the drop down window (Name)

I was about to ask the same question that Joshua asked here, so forgive me for jumping in to ride on the back of his question...
In the Devices>Network Adapters panel I do see 'en1 Airport' which is the macs wireless adapter I guess, in the 'name' dropdown list. But when I select it, and click OK nothing seems to happen... Even after its showing in the name box, the Adapter Type under Advanced is still showing as 'PCNet-FAST III (Am79C973)' which doesn't change. Is there something else required to select/configure the wireless connection? I see that there are 3 other numbered Adapter tabs at the top which are all greyed out.

I'm sorry if this is a result of my inexperience here, but I have spent quite a bit of time trying to work this out. It's not easy to get everything configured.
Thanks for being here.

The adapter type is a virtual adapter for the guest and is what it uses to connect to the real adapter. The reason they are grayed out is you can not change these while the guest is running. You would need to change them from the settings area of the VBox program while the guest was shut down. If the host is using the wireless adapter and connected to the network then the guest would also use it via the virtual adapter. You would need to select it (WLAN) as the connection type in the guest settings.

Thanks - I'm now wirelessly connected!
I had found that although there is the ability to adjust settings on the fly, I could only make changes which had any effect when Windows wasn't running. Through the Settings panel, I could enable other adapters and get the wireless connection working, just as you said.
Again, thanks for being here.
