Post by slcman »

Hi all
I seen few post of people how have some problem with windows 98 SE video. I tried to add driver, not working. Does Sun will work on this issue or I should look for another VM software? ( I saw a answer in a forum where people use another software for be able to use windows 98). Any member have succes with win98 SE?

This is the best solution for VB. Other Virtual Programs perform better for win9x guest

Yes, my VirtualBox win 98 SE VM is able to run legacy Office applications and games.

1) VBE9X/UNI Screen res. 320 x 200 256 Color to 1600 x 1200 True Color (32 bit)
2) With hardware virtualisation (VT-x) enabled software rendering is fast enough for early win 95 games to run at full speed.
3) USB devices work if they have a win9x driver.

The bad - as it doesn't have Additions support there is no emulated DirectX 3D hardware - so many games will refuse to run.
