Ubuntu 9.10 Guest additions re-install

Hi,

Just a quick note to say that I installed the Guest Additions from VBox first thing after my Ubuntu Install on my Mac laptop. I then updated Ubuntu, which brought in a lot of changes, even some kernel changes. After a reboot it looks like the Guest Additions, which appear to build some kernel extensions in the host, appeared to be disabled or over-written. At least things like 'view full screen' stopped working.

Otherwise, the combo of Snow Leopard, Intel Core 2 Duo, VirtualBox and Ubuntu is a great combination. Feels responsive and snappy.

If you install dkms in the Ubuntu guest it will keep track of the kernel modules for you. (It is pointed out in the VBox Users Manual)
Other wise you will need to run /etc/initd/vboxadd setup each time manually.
