WinXP Host/ WinXP Guest - Gust NIC not working

I know that by the title this seams like a repost but I've looked over the forums for 2 days now and haven't seen a solution that has worked for me (and I've tried several different things I've seen posted)

so my WinXP Guest refuses to connect to the network. I do indeed have a router on my network. I've tried setting the network to NAT, Bridged, and having Network Adapter 1 set to Host and Adapter 2 set to NAT... still nothin.

I tried running ipconfig and it wont even run... going into the device manager says that the NIC device "cannot start (code 10)"

I'm trying to setup this WinXP guest for a work at home job.. and I have to have it working so that I can login and register for my training classes BEFORE this wed.

Adaper type selected? try amd pcnet, that should work fine. You should also try to delete those lan devices and reboot Guest.

From a host terminal/command windows VBoxManage showvminfo <VM Name> and post here. Replace <VM Name> with the actual name of the VM. Use "" if the name has a space in it.
