VB 3.1.2: Lock up when syncing ipod touch

Hello,
Has anybody had trouble when syncing an iPod touch or an iPhone with the latest version of VirtualBox (3.1.2) with iTunes (9.2) on Windows 7 (32 bit)?
For me the syncing works until I try to sync large files or my picture library. Then Windows 7 locks completely up.
In the log file I get the following:
00:17:46.185 ERROR [COM]: aRC=VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80bb0005) aIID={7c0f2eae-f92d-498c-b802-e1a3763774dc} aComponent={Mouse} aText={Could not send the mouse event to the virtual mouse (VERR_PDM_NO_QUEUE_ITEMS)} aWarning=false, preserve=false
But I think this error is just the consequence of Windows 7 being unresponsive and not the original problem...
Any suggestions what to try to prevent this are welcome --- disabling USB 2.0 doesn't help! I already submitted a bug report...
