Trying to set up windows 7

Post by Fernando Hernandez »

I'm trying to configure Windows 7 for VirtualBox, but when I go to mount the .iso file, it gives me the message:

"Value of the Name field on the General page is not complete."

What does this mean? How do I fix it? Windows XP was working fine previously and I've never gotten this message before.

How are you trying to mount the ISO? Did you use the drill down and add it to the media manager?
Which version of VirtualBox are you using?

I went into the Settings menu and CD/DVD Rom drives to mount the .iso my brother got from his college. It kept giving me that message. I think I've fixed it though, I deleted the machine and started over and instead used the first-run wizard when it asked me for the iso image, and it seems to be working. I don't understand why it wouldn't work through the settings menu, and it's a legitimate copy of Windows 7 so I wasn't sure what was going wrong.
