With earlier versions my virtual machines, including w2k, worked quite well (latest vorking distribution was virtualbox-3.0_3.0.12-54655_Ubuntu_hardy_amd64.deb).
The host os is Ubuntu 8.04, that may be concluded from the distribution.
This new distribution, virtualbox-3.1_3.1.2-56127_Ubuntu_hardy_amd64.deb, was installed without notified problems but caused problems with the w2k virtual machine when I try starting it (however it seems to work quite well for my other wirtual machines, windows vista, ubuntu 8.04 and ubuntu 9.10)
The symptom is a bluescreen with a note that the error couldn't be identified.
Is this a bug in the new distribution ?
Greateful for suggestions..

Try disabling vt in the guest settings.

Yes, see: VM BSOD when enabling USB Controller in VM and BSOD when USB & Uniprocessor HAL * VT-x/AMD-Vlarsot wrote:Is this a bug in the new distribution ?
Fix is as stefan.becker says, or do without USB.
