Fedora 12 Installation

I tried to install Fedora 12 on VirtualBox v3.1.2. The installation process had been smooth. However, after the installation process, the system required me to "Reboot" to complete the installation. Unfortunately, after the reboot, the virtual machines said:

Booting from local disk...
FATAL: INT18: BOOT FAILURE

and the VM cannot be powered down by ACPI selection from the machine menu. It can only be killed by closing the VM. Previously I have Fedora 11 successfully installed which I had deleted to release the space for Fedora 12.

I would be appreciated if any one can advise me the solution of such a situation. (Itried 3 times already with the same result. :( )

Thanks a lot.

Colin

Hi, I had the same problem, tried to install twice, but no success. Originally, I used the VB's defaults, when I selected Fedora as the guest OS. Before installing, I removed the floppy drive from the list of the available mass storage devices. After the installation, same problem, fatal error. I then removed the floppy drive from the list of available boot devices and moved the disk to the first position.
What I also did, but probably, this is not the source of the problem: before the installation, I changed the controller from PIIX4 to ICH6, but when I was removing the floppy drive from the list of available boot devices, I changed the controller back to PIIX4...

Well, I found the same problem with Ferdora 12 and release 3.1.4
In my case solution was as simple as "remove the installation media from virtual DVD when the system is about to boot for the first time" :D
I actually tried to install the product 10 times before found this nice solution. (Once I got the same error with CentOS 5.4, it dawned on me that the problem is not in Fedora, but seems that boot loader is got confused with devices numbering and tried to boot from DVD, or else)

Hi, the last solution of "un-mounting the cd/dvd before rebooting" worked fine for me...
Thanks for the help...
