Audio coming from the guest machine is fine normally, but when I try using a USB headset as a mic/headphones, I get horrible audio quality, very choppy, etc. I have tried two different headsets, and both achieve the same result. I'm primarily using my guest OS for Rosetta Stone, so this poses a significant problem for me

Problems with USB Headset in Windows XP guest
I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 64bit, Virtualbox 3.1.2, guest is Windows XP.
Audio coming from the guest machine is fine normally, but when I try using a USB headset as a mic/headphones, I get horrible audio quality, very choppy, etc. I have tried two different headsets, and both achieve the same result. And it's not just a problem with Rosetta Stone, listening to ANY audio on the guest OS with the USB headset hooked up yields the same bad audio. And yes, I do have the device passed through to the guest OS. I have also tried running pavucontrol while the guest OS is open, as mentioned in a different thread, and I don't think it makes any difference. Is there something I'm missing?
