Display size

Post by bjross »

My desktop display in my guest OS is larger than my monitor. I have to leave the guest OS and scroll around the screen to get to the icons in my guest OS. I am running VB3 on Ubuntu 9.1. I have looked for a resolution setting that I can tweak but I am unable to find it. Have looked on my guest OS (Knoppix) as well as VB3. I am new to this but I am very impressed how you can save a running OS and take on where you left off.

When I click on install Guest Additions (after clicking Devices on VBox) nothing happens (Host+D). Brian.

@bjross,
The VBoxGuestAdditions.iso should be attached as a CD/DVD. If not, under <Devices|CD/DVD Drives|VBoxGuestAdditions.iso> make it so. Just navigate there in your file manager and execute <VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run> unless of course you are running a machine with an AMD64, then execute <VBoxLinuxAdditions-amd64.run>. If the scripts don't compile, your Knoppix is missing some tools. Consult this link for specific help.
Of course, reading the manual always helps, as suggested by constant, but that is common knowledge.
