Win95 installation requesting files: how to proceed?

Post by mailman »

Hi experts,

Host: Win XP SP2
Guest Win95 OEM edition, I think.
VB Version: 3.1.2 r56127

I have gone through the initial process and after copying the files, setup restarts. I Press F12 and choose IDE disk to boot from and I get a message saying something like: preparing to start/run windows 95 for the first time.

Now, it is trying to configure Plug and Play devices but is prompting me for a few dll files. How do I find out where those DLL files are? The popup doesn't give me the "Browse" option that we are so used to in subsequent Windows installations.

P.S. during inst. process, it asked me to create a startup disk but I declined as I don't have a floppy disk drive. [I chose C:\Windows as the path]

Thanks,

Update: If I skip all the files it asks for (looks like all are network related, it asks for a reboot after configuring things like Control Panel, Date/Time etc.
When it tries to start up again, VirtualBox crashes. This problem is reproducible, please tell me what log files I should provide to help debug/resolve.

Post exact guest settings. But before try disabling VT.
