OpenSuse 11.2 Guest Additions

Post by tom.96 »

I've tried various Linux distros under Virtual Box and find it a great program (I'm typing this on a Fedora 12 guest.)

However I've got a problem with the OpenSuse11.2 guest addition installation. I've done all the updates, the headers, the kernel etc. I install the guest additions via the terminal and everything seems to go well. I get a message saying they have been installed and to restart the system. I do this - but they haven't actually installed! I'm still only able to run it in 800x600.

If anyone knows what is going on I would appreciate some help. I've installed guest additions fine on Fedora and Ubuntu and have never had this problem.

- Basically I just want to run OpenSuse full screen - anything that is higher res than 800*600!

Thanks

Try starting sax2 and choose a monitor with higher res.

I'm still having difficulty with the resolution settings.

I was able to use and configure Sax2, but when the virtual pc was rebooted, the resolution remains at 1024 x 768.

I'm attempting to adopt the host resolution of 1600x900.

In Sax2, I am able to test and save at that resolution and get a prompt that the settings will take affect the next time the graphics display is rebooted.

Any help would be appreciated.
