Snapshots are lost once VB completely shuts down

Since I think 3.1, when I close a vm by saving the machine state, I will lose the save state if I close VirtualBox completely. If I navigate to the snapshot folder, I see the save state file, but VB will do nothing with it. This happens regardless of what OS is in the guest and happens under 3.1.2 as well.

i can confirm the same problem on a fedora 12 host, with windows xp guest. The snapshot file is saved in the proper location, so it seems VB forgets to update the .xml file when it closes, perhaps.

ah, yes, good thinking. For me, this seems to be the issue reported under ticket #5656 http://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/5656. My problem exists when the snapshot folder is changed as described in the thread referenced in the problem report for that ticket.

Yeah, I guess it's worth mentioning that the Snapshot folder for my guests is not the default location.
