Vbox 3.1.2
Host: CentOS 5.4
Guest: Windows Server 2003

Hi All,

I have Cobian Backup (http://www.cobian.se/cobianbackup.htm) set to backup certain files on my guest in the middle of the night to my host's VBox shared drive (\\VBOXSVR\Drivers-Windows\pro-backup). Problem: Cobian can not see the drive, unless I am logged it (any account will do). I do not like to leave my server logged in, as mischief can ensue. Anyone know a workaround for this?

Many thanks,
-T

Unless you want to "lock" the virtual machines. If it's Server 2003 at the crtl-alt-delete menu you should have an option to lock the machine.

Any way to run VBOXSVR as a service?

Upgraded to 3.1.2 guest additions and two reboots, now I do not have to be logged in. Yipee!

Okay. Not solved. I missed that my two testers were logging to test things. Now that they are gone for the holidays and not logging to test anything, it has become obvious that the first person that logs in triggers VBOXDVR. So, not solved. :'(
