Hi all,
I'm using VB 3.1.0 on a SimplyMepis host system with 2 NICS installed.
What I'm trying to do is set up an isolated LAN using VB with Windows guests. I have a Windows Small Business Server 2008 guest and a Windows XP guest. I'd like to have the SBS 2008 have access to the Internet as well as being the DC and serving DHCP request to the isolated LAN. I'd like the XP guest to see the SBS server and request a DHCP address from it as opposed to DHCP from VB and join the SBS domain.
I've read through the users guide on networking and some forum post and Google. I haven't really found anything that I can see that would help me get that setup. I've tried toying with various options in the network for VB but I have yet to have the XP guest request DHCP from the SBS server.
Is it possible to do that?
Thanks.

Re: Networking Question
You can setup the virtual LAN using wither Host-only networking or Internal networking.
To use the SBS 2008 VM DHCP server, you will/may have to disabled the built-in VirtualBox DHCP server. See sections 6.5 and 6.6 of the user manual for how to configure the VirtualBox DHCP server.
To give the SBS 2008 VM internet access, enable a second virtual network card and use either NAT networking or Bridged networking.
