How to take snapshots live?

How can I take or revert to, or delete snapshots while the VM is running? Is this supported? The options are grayed out.

Would you really want to try to take a snapshot of a disk when the OS was running. I don't think the image you ended up with would be very useful.

Or backup the VM from inside the VM and restore to a new VM.

This could lead to useless operating system if some system file would be saved in inconsistent state because of updating file by operating system during snapshot.

VirtualBox 3.1 support live snapshots, like VMware, so I don't understand your problem.

When VM is running do:

Go to VBox Main GUI->VM->Snapshots Tab->Take Snapshot...

Oh, did not realize there was already another version. I'm at 3.0 guess I should of waited a bit more to upgrade!
